The Ethics Commission was created to hear and investigate written complaints of violations of the city's ethics ordinances (Prospect Code of Ordinances, Chapter 38). The commission meets only as necessary and renders advisory opinions within 30 days of a meeting, and formal findings of fact and conclusions of law within 60 days of any hearing alleging a violation of ethics ordinances.
The Ethics Commission also performs compliance reviews of annual ethics reports completed by every city official and employee.
